Here's a detailed recipe for making Rocky Road ice cream from scratch:

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped almonds (or any nuts of your choice), toasted
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions:

Prepare the Base: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is fully dissolved. Heat it until it just begins to steam, but do not let it boil.

Temper the Eggs (if using): If you're using eggs in your recipe, temper them by whisking a small amount of the hot cream mixture into the beaten eggs in a separate bowl. Then gradually whisk the egg mixture back into the saucepan with the rest of the cream mixture, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from scrambling. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Flavoring and Chilling: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Transfer the mixture to a clean bowl and cover it with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the mixture to prevent a skin from forming. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until thoroughly chilled.

Churn the Mixture: Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Add Mix-Ins:
During the last few minutes of churning, add in the mini marshmallows, chopped almonds, and chocolate chips or chunks, allowing them to mix evenly into the ice cream.

Freeze: Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container, folding in any remaining mix-ins as you do so. Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until firm.

Serve: When ready to serve, scoop the Rocky Road ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!

This homemade Rocky Road ice cream is sure to be a hit with its rich chocolate flavor and delightful mix-ins. Feel free to customize it with your favorite nuts or additional toppings as desired!
